Export Credit Greece S.A. (ECG) and Uzbekinvest Export-Import Insurance Company JSC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening the bilateral economic relations. The agreement was signed by Export Credit Greece’s Chief Legal, Compliance and International Relations Officer (CLO), Ms. Sofia Polychronea, and Uzbekinvest’s General Director, Mr. Rustam Azimov, during the “Annual General Meeting Hamburg 2024” of Berne Union, the global association of export credit agencies, held in Hamburg, Germany from October 15-17.
The two parties will collaborate to create a joint framework for more effective support of trade and investment activities, with a particular focus on promoting exports between Greece and Uzbekistan. Τhe two agencies will coordinate their actions and will cooperate to facilitate the entrance of businesses into emerging markets, while there will be a regular exchange of information as well as an exchange of good practices between them, with the aim of continuously improving the services provided.
Ms. Sofia Polychronea, Chief Legal, Compliance and International Relations Officer (CLO) of Export Credit Greece, stated: “By signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Uzbekistan, we are opening new avenues for strengthening our economic relations. Our goal is to develop trade and explore mutual opportunities in the fields of insurance and guarantees. The exchange of expertise and best practices is a shared objective, as is the overall support of exports and the attraction of foreign investments.”
Similarly, Ms. Umida Musalieva, Manager of Export Risks Insurance Department of Uzbekinvest, mentioned: “Uzbekinvest is honored to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Export Credit Greece (ECG). Uzbekistan is open to trade and investment opportunities from Greek companies. This agreement will facilitate the development of bilateral relations and enhance support for exporters and investors in Uzbekistan and Greece.“
